Biography

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho. Through my practice, I strive to provide a safe space where you can connect with your most authentic self.  I believe this work is best done with a non-judgmental, genuine, therapeutic relationship. Like many counselors, I grew up with mental health challenges in my own family. Today, I feel deeply privileged to be invited into the stories of other every day.

I enjoy working with people from many diverse backgrounds.  I have training in advanced play therapy, trauma-informed care, and am certified in Level 1 Gottman Method couples therapy. I also received a specialized degree in Alcohol and Drug Addiction counseling. I specialize in working with teens, distressed couples, and people struggling with addiction. I received my bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Environmental Science and worked in Michigan’s low-income schools for 4 years after graduating.  In 2016 I received my master’s degree in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Western Michigan University. My approach to counseling comes from an attachment perspective wherein we learn how to adapt to life’s hardships through our most important relationships. I value the opportunity to walk with you in your journey, no matter where you are at.

Outside of work I enjoy cooking and love being outside in any capacity—rock climbing, backpacking, fly fishing, skiing, etc. I am also a tutor for research paper writing at my local community college.
